Oral – Labret

Oral – Labret

The Labret piercing is usually pierced through the thinner tissue just beneath the lip itself. A labret of 16 or 14 gauge is normally used and the length often depends on the thickness of the tissue being pierced. Ball Closure Rings are also used the initial piercing, but they often have to be larger in diameter to allow for swelling. This often means that the jewelry flops about on the lip and this can cause the kind of aggravation that prolongs healing. Healing Time: 6 – 12 weeks
